This is a very personal and intimate project that I would like to share with others.
The project is going to keep evolving.
As a western white woman, I have been fortunate enough not to have to deal with the same challenges and obstacles that many women from different backgrounds and cultures face on a daily basis. However, this privilege also meant that it took me longer to develop an interest in exploring my own femininity.
For me the project ‘A curious exploration of femininity’ is about embracing the diversity and complexity of women’s experiences and recognising the ways in which femininity can be both a source of strength and a source of challenge.
As I delved deeper into this exploration I realised that my own femininity is closely linked to my sexual identification and fertility.
For me, femininity is about fertility, giving life not just to humans, but also to creativity, emotions and other aspects of existence. It is a multifaceted and complex concept that has both empowered and challenged me throughout my life.
This project is a deeply personal and introspective journey for me, one that allows me to connect with my own femininity on a deeper level.
I have explored the ways in which my femininity intersects with other aspects of my identity and have come to embrace the unique and diverse ways in which femininity can be expressed.
